Load Test — 2 August 2026
We put a scale on a 50-amp shore power cord and filmed the whole thing, calibration first.
A 50-amp cord puts about eight pounds of dead weight on the connector, before you add road vibration and wind. With Strain Guard fitted, nearly eleven pounds of upward force was required before the device released — consistent with the device carrying the cord’s load rather than the connector.
This is a show of load relief. Independent strain-relief testing is underway with a Western Michigan University senior engineering capstone team, with results expected in late 2026.
